We are seeking a Senior Interoperability Specialist to take charge of various interoperability projects within the healthcare domain.

In this role, you will be tasked with applying industry standards, methodologies, and implementation guidelines to architect data integration solutions across public health and healthcare systems.

This position requires hands-on involvement across multiple data interoperability initiatives, necessitating daily interactions with business stakeholders, partners, and technical teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop specific artifacts to facilitate data integration, including data dictionaries, traceability matrices, and test messages.
  • Validate messages using both automated and manual tools.
  • Collaborate with project managers, developers, and end-users to ensure alignment with business requirements.
  • Analyze and document customer needs and workflows related to interoperability processes.
  • Automate testing and validate implemented interfaces based on client specifications.
  • Maintain and support existing interfaces.
  • Employ creative problem-solving techniques.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proficient in gathering and interpreting information.
  • Capable of effectively managing multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
  • Experience with healthcare interoperability and messaging standards, including HL7 2.x, HL7 3.x, HL7 FHIR, IHE integration profiles, and X12 HIPAA transactions.
  • Knowledge of XML technologies (XML, XSD, XSL/XSLT).
  • Understanding of Web services/APIs.
  • Familiarity with networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, HTTP, FTP, SOAP, REST).
  • Proficient in SQL and DSL languages.
  • Knowledge of programming languages (Python, Java, etc.).

Additional Preferred Experience:

  • HL7 Certification.
  • FHIR Certification.
  • Background in public health or healthcare informatics.
  • Experience with standardized vocabulary and terminology, including SNOMED-CT and LOINC.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish.
