About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Management Officer to join our team at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC). The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Team Leader in exploring opportunities internationally, with a focus on regions and countries strategic for BSC.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and explore potential international partnerships in line with BSC's objectives and interests.
  • Organize meetings and conference calls with potential international partners.
  • Draft collaboration proposals and help define responses to EU and other funding agencies.
  • Support the Team Leader in his activities in projects in which he is the BSC Principal Investigator.
  • Draft project deliverables and reports, monitor the project budget.
  • Coordinate consortium meetings.
  • Keep the project documentation in order and prepared to be audited by internal and external authorities.
  • Liaise with other BSC departments to incubate and run international and EU-funded projects.
  • Manage international schools, such as the ACM HPC summer school in Barcelona and the ACM HPC ASEAN school in South East Asia.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor degree in related disciplines or equivalent experience.
  • Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience:
    • At least 5 years experience in managerial roles in international projects.
    • Proven ability to draft proposals and answer EU and other funding agencies' RFPs.
    • Proven ability to coordinate the drafting and review of EU project deliverables.
    • Experience in organizing and running international events.
    • Proven ability to liaise with administration and service units in scientific institutes.
    • Availability to work on a flexible time schedule and to travel when necessary.
    • Excellent mastery of at least English and Spanish, working knowledge of other languages an additional advantage.
  • Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience:
    • Experience in supervising and training junior staff in the same team.
    • Solid presentation skills and mastering of the necessary office tools such as MS PowerPoint, Excel, MS Teams, etc....
    • Master or Doctoral Degrees in related disciplines will be an additional value.
  • Competences:
    • Capability to work independently and to face unexpected urgent peaks of work.
Working Conditions
  • The position will be located at BSC within the Director's Office Department.
  • We offer a full-time contract (37.5h/week), a good working environment, a highly stimulating environment with state-of-the-art infrastructure, flexible working hours, extensive training plan, restaurant tickets, private health insurance, support to the relocation procedures.
  • Remote work is possible when and if authorized by the Team Leader and BSC management.
Selection Process

A gender-balanced recruitment panel will review the applications and conduct interviews, with at least one technical and one administrative interview. A profile questionnaire and a technical exercise may be required during the process.
