About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior R&D Packaging Engineer to join our team at General Mills. As a key member of our R&D Application Team, you will be responsible for driving packaging development projects across innovation, core range renovation, sustainability, and margin management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Packaging Innovation: Develop and implement packaging solutions for new or existing products, leveraging your technical expertise and project management skills.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Partner with R&D, Marketing, Sourcing, Supply Chain, and External Partners to deliver winning packaging solutions.
  • Manage Multiple Projects: Create and execute technical plans, risk assessments, and mitigation plans, manage timelines, and provide effective communication and documentation of work.
  • Stay Ahead of Industry Trends: Stay up-to-date with packaging technology developments, regulatory landscape changes, and competitive packaging activity to inform business decisions.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in packaging-, mechanical engineering, or relevant engineering discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum 6 years of related experience in packaging roles.
  • Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead new packaging ideation, development, and commercialization; good communication and leadership skills; deep technical knowledge of interactions between product, packaging, and equipment.
