Job Title: Tax Advisor

At Bayer, we are seeking a highly skilled Tax Advisor to join our Global Business Services (GBS) team. As a key member of our Tax Community, you will play a crucial role in providing expert support to our tax and accounting teams, offering valuable insights and guidance on direct and indirect tax, tax accounting, tax reporting, and tax compliance for the countries within our scope.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive support to tax and accounting teams on technical and process-related inquiries related to tax matters.
  • Manage complex tax activities within the region and globally, including providing support and guidance during tax audits.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement within our Global Business Services (GBS) and collaborate with Global Process Owner (GPO) organization to implement effective solutions.
  • Monitor and measure key process metrics to ensure high performance, including serving as a dedicated Internal Control System (ICS) reviewer.
  • Manage knowledge by documenting and training team members on Bayer's tax processes.
  • Act as the primary point of contact between GBS and the GPO organization, fostering strong collaboration and communication between the two entities.
Requirements:
  • BA/BS degree in Tax/Fiscal, Finance, Accounting, Law or Business with 5+ years of experience in tax advisory or/and in a multinational company, preferably covering direct & indirect tax advisory, tax compliance, tax accounting and tax reporting.
  • Strong capabilities to work through ambiguity and for sound judgment.
  • Advanced level of capabilities to lead change, projects, and initiatives.
  • Advanced level of capability to collaborate.
  • Advanced level of ability to explain the 'why', ability to influence people and to drive change or to execute governance of Tax.
  • Strong tax judgment and business knowledge or ability to quickly learn.
  • Advanced level of capability to collaborate task/project oriented without geographical, organizational, or functional borders.
  • SAP experience is a plus.
  • Very good analytical skills and the proactive attitude to drive process changes.
  • Customer oriented mind-set, change management capabilities and Team player.
  • Competence to grasp an overview of complex subjects and deduce operational activities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication, and presentation skills and ability to manage multiple and diverse stakeholders.
  • A high proficiency level in English, both written and spoken.
