About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior 3D Character Artist to join our team at Gameloft. As a key member of our Dungeons & Dragons project, you will be responsible for creating high-quality characters and creatures that exceed our visual targets and stylistically consistent with our artistic direction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create (sculpt, model, UV, texture, and create materials) high-quality characters and creatures.
  • Deliver excellent translations of characters while considering game design constraints and respecting a strong artistic direction.
  • Work closely with the Lead 3D Character Artist to ensure the visual target is always exceeded and stylistically consistent.
  • Coordinate with tools and technology teams to develop necessary solutions for creating the best characters possible.
  • Review assets to make certain that they satisfy their intended design and are ready for rigging and animation.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines such as Design, Concept Art, Animation, Tech Art, and VFX to ensure that characters are fully realized.
  • Verify the quality of assets in the game, and make improvements where necessary to fit technical constraints, performance targets, and artistic direction.
  • Ensure the timely completion of assets on style and at the desired quality bar.
  • Mentor Intermediate and Junior 3D Character Artists by providing guidance and feedback.

Requirements
  • +6 years of experience as a Character Artist
  • High-quality portfolio of gamedev-relevant 3D Character Art, preferably with an emphasis on stylization.
  • Able to interpret and follow concepts and reference material to create clean, detailed, and accurate 3D Character models.
  • An excellent understanding of game mechanics related to characters, objects, and environments.
  • Experience integrating 3D assets into industry-leading game engines such as Unity or Unreal.
