About the Role

We are seeking a skilled PV Design Specialist to join our team at ib vogt, a leading developer of turnkey PV plants and battery storage projects.

As a PV Design Specialist, you will play a crucial role in interpreting engineering specifications, sketches, and calculations to create detailed technical drawings for our PV projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Draft detailed mechanical & electrical layouts, single-line diagrams (SLDs), detailed drawings, and section drawings for PV projects.
  • Perform calculations to determine material requirements and dimensions, and prepare documentation related to drawings, such as bills of materials and assembly instructions.
  • Modify and revise existing drawings based on changes in design or specifications.
  • Prepare AS-BUILT drawings based on RED-Markups provided by site managers and supervisors.
  • Assist Engineering Managers in creating standard drawings and templates, shaping the future design philosophy of our projects.
  • Identify and report potential design problems or inconsistencies before they become a challenge.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An academic diploma/degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering with experience in renewable energies or a related field (preferably PV Power plants).
  • 5+ years of experience as a Draftsman or in a similar role, drafting mechanical & electrical engineering layouts.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, SolidWorks, or Inventor and PV-specific plugins like Helios 3D and PVCase.
  • Strong understanding of drafting principles and conventions.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work & thrive independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
