Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement technical solutions for online gaming features, collaborating closely with design teams to provide constructive feedback and create clear, actionable technical designs.
  • Deliver robust, stable, and efficient technical implementations that align with design specifications.
  • Maintain awareness of performance and memory constraints in implementation.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to enhance team productivity through improved tools and workflows.
  • Contribute to foundational EA technologies in a manner that supports collaborative development efforts.
  • Engage with a large team, both in-person and remotely.
  • Integrate with third-party software APIs.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in C++ software development.
  • Familiarity with Client/Server, Peer-to-Peer, and multi-threaded architectures.
  • Experience in UI implementation.
  • Knowledge of game engines such as Unity or Unreal.
  • Ability to work effectively with high-level technical guidance and adapt quickly to evolving codebases and challenges.
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging capabilities.
  • Flexibility and quick adaptability to existing codebases.
  • A genuine passion for programming and demonstrable development experience.
  • Experience with third-party APIs.
  • Understanding of C++ language, best practices, and architectural considerations.
  • Familiarity with version control systems like Perforce or Git.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in real-time game networking.
  • Proficiency in ActionScript and Visual Studio, along with in-depth knowledge of debugging tools.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Lua, or SQL.
  • Awareness of the game development industry and console development.
  • Experience using project management tools (e.g., JIRA) and source control systems (e.g., Perforce, GitHub).
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
