The Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology (BIST) is seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team in the Suero research group. This position will be part of a European Research Council – ERC Proof of Concept project focused on the development of novel kinase inhibitors.
About the ProjectThe pharmaceutical industry has witnessed significant growth in approved covalent drugs over the past two decades. These drugs often incorporate a chemical warhead, a mild electrophilic reactive functional group that forms covalent bonds with nucleophilic aminoacid residues. Our project aims to assess the viability of a new chemical warhead in the discovery of novel kinase inhibitors.
Responsibilities- Design and discovery of novel kinase inhibitors with new chemical warheads.
- Conduct research, write reports, and prepare scientific articles for publication.
- Present research results in group meetings and conferences.
- Document research findings and outcomes.
- PhD in Organic chemistry or medicinal chemistry.
- Proven track record in chemical synthesis, catalysis, and medicinal chemistry.
- Excellent written and spoken English skills.
- Strong commitment to scientific excellence.
- A 3-year full-time contract.
- Remuneration according to individual's qualification and experience.
- Annual salary split in twelve monthly payments.
