Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team in Spain. As a key member of our offshore wind team, you will be responsible for the electrical system design for an offshore substation, developing electrical specifications, and overseeing EPC contractor works.
Key Responsibilities
- Electrical System Design: Lead the design of the electrical system for an offshore substation, ensuring compliance with project system design and grid code requirements.
- Electrical Specifications: Develop detailed electrical specifications for EPC tender and negotiate with suppliers to ensure optimal solutions.
- Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with the overall electrical engineering manager to ensure electrical design aligns with project goals and grid code compliance.
- Electrical Modelling and Simulation: Oversee electrical modelling works and collaborate with internal and external simulation engineers to ensure accurate and reliable results.
- Electrical Component Specifications: Develop detailed specifications for electrical components, such as transformers, shunt reactors, and GIS.
- EPC Contractor Management: Oversee the EPC contractor's works in electrical engineering LV/MV/HV throughout all project stages, from early design to commissioning.
Requirements
- Education: Degree in electrical engineering, M.Sc. preferred.
- Experience: Minimum five years of relevant professional experience from energy infrastructure projects, preferably from HV substation projects.
- Technical Skills: Good knowledge of electrical HV components, such as transformers, shunt reactors, GIS, and STATCOM.
- Project Management: Experienced in electrical design works, managing EPC contractors, and electrical interface engineering.
- Offshore Wind Experience: Preferably more than 3 years of experience from offshore wind projects.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiar with relevant industry codes and standards.
- Language Skills: Fluency in English.
- Travel Requirements: Willingness to undertake regular trips to project countries.
- Work Permit: Valid EU work permit.
