We are seeking a highly skilled computing professional to join our team at the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICN2). As a High Performance and Scientific Computing Engineer, you will play a crucial role in setting up and managing our High-Performance Computing (HPC) infrastructure.
Main Responsibilities:**Key Responsibilities:**
- Install, configure, and maintain HPC clusters, including Linux/Unix operating systems, job schedulers, and other HPC tools.
- Manage and optimize HPC storage systems, including file systems and compute node storage.
- Develop and implement efficient solutions for data management, processing, and analysis.
- Collaborate with research groups to understand their computational needs and provide expert advice on HPC infrastructure and tools.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in HPC technologies, including parallelization, I/O, numerical methods, and modern heterogeneous architectures.
Education: Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computational Physics, or related fields.
Desirable Skills:- Strong programming skills in languages such as Bash, Python, Fortran, and C.
- Experience with HPC cluster management tools, job schedulers, and other HPC tools.
- Familiarity with low-latency/high-bandwidth, interconnected infrastructure.
- Knowledge of shared and distributed memory parallelism, accelerators, and programming tools.
As a High Performance and Scientific Computing Engineer at ICN2, you will have the opportunity to work with a talented team of researchers and engineers, contributing to cutting-edge research in nanoscience and nanotechnology. You will also have access to state-of-the-art HPC infrastructure and resources, enabling you to develop and implement innovative solutions for data-intensive research.
