Position Overview

In the role of Quality Engineer, you will be instrumental in overseeing quality initiatives at our Barcelona Site. Your responsibilities will encompass various aspects of quality assurance, including quality control, manufacturing process quality, management of non-conforming materials, document oversight, new product development, and returns management.

Key Responsibilities

Support for Quality Management System (QMS):

  • Assist in the maintenance of the QMS, including the review and updating of documentation (Quality Assurance Plans, Standard Operating Procedures).
  • Engage in Documentation Control activities as required.
  • Contribute to process design and continuous improvement projects, employing methodologies such as lean, 5S, and six sigma.

Management of Non-conforming Materials:

  • Serve as the quality representative during weekly Material Review Boards, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Coordinate actions for product disposal, including in-house reworks, supplier reworks, returns to vendor, and scrap transactions.
  • Generate non-conformance reports and assist in the corrective action process utilizing the 8D format.

Conduct data collection and analysis to evaluate process performance and track key performance indicators (KPIs) in alignment with Quality Objectives.

Support the Product Development Process for New Product Introductions (NPI) and New System Introductions (NSI) by ensuring the execution of quality-related deliverables, including Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), and control plan design.

Oversee the Product Return process, managing customer communications and participating in troubleshooting efforts as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in an electro-mechanical manufacturing environment within Quality or Production functions.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 standards.
  • Knowledge of REACH and RoHS regulations is advantageous.
  • Experience with circuit board fabrication and assembly is preferred.
