The Role

In this role, the Senior Project Engineer will work on a variety of projects to implement and improve OSI's control systems and provide ongoing customer support to ensure reliable performance and world-class customer satisfaction.

Working from our campus and from company and customer sites across Europe as required, the successful applicant will contribute to project delivery excellence in support of utility customers in the energy generation, transmission, and distribution industries.

Your Impact

As a Senior Project Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  1. Design and Implementation: Design, plan, integrate, test, and commission hardware and software requirements on customer systems.
  2. Technical Sales Support: Provide technical sales support of state-of-the-art power systems applications for real-time control systems, including sales presentations and product demonstrations.
  3. Project Requirements: Evaluate contract specifications and define project requirements through customer communication and communicate the requirements to other departments as necessary.
  4. Networking and System Design: Provide networking and system/application design.
  5. Installation and Testing: Perform hardware, software, and system installation, integration, and testing for projects.
  6. Customization: Customize system, hardware, and network configuration based on customer requirements.
  7. Customer Support: Provide customer support and assistance per contract maintenance and warranty.
  8. Documentation: Assist in creating training materials and project documentation as needed.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. Education: Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Systems Engineering, or related field.
  2. Technical Background: Strong technical background in automation and computers with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
  3. Industry Experience: Experience in one or more of the following: power systems, electric utility operations/dispatch, real-time control systems, client/server applications, network communications, UNIX/Linux/Windows operation systems, C/C++.
  4. Skills: Excellent organization, interpersonal, and leadership skills. Strong commitment to providing superior customer service. Ability to work on several projects in parallel in a fast-paced environment. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability and flexibility to travel to domestic and international customer sites.
