GIS Technician Job Description

We are seeking an experienced GIS Technician to join our Madrid office, focusing on developing GIS work for environmental and engineering projects.

As a GIS Technician, you will establish strong relationships with internal Project Managers and technical leads to maximize the benefits of geospatial technology in project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the GIS element of major projects in a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Provide consultancy to internal and external clients to understand their needs and provide solutions.
  • Support projects in Spain and other regions, requiring good communication skills and fluency in English.
  • Perform multiple tasks concurrently within strict timeframes, scope, budget, and schedule expectations, ensuring quality standards on project deliverables.
  • Actively interact with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Develop and implement GIS Standards and best practices.
  • Provide support and guidance on spatial data management.
  • Design and manage geodatabases.
  • Carry out geoprocessing/analysis tasks.
  • Develop and use Esri mobile apps such as Survey123, Field Maps, QuickCapture, and Workforce.
  • Potentially coordinate GIS work with other colleagues.
Requirements:
  • Experience in GIS and geospatial technology.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment.
