We are seeking a highly skilled Climate Modelling Specialist to join our team at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC). As a key member of our Natural and Social Hazards (NaSH) group, you will play a crucial role in developing methodologies and products related to risk maps and early warning systems.
Key Responsibilities- Contribute to the development of climate models and their application to regional and local weather patterns.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to design, develop, test, and maintain software products.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of catastrophe risk models for the humanitarian and insurance sectors.
- Identify gaps in existing methodologies and design new projects to address these gaps.
- Contribute to writing funding applications and securing resources for future projects.
- Ph.D. degree in climate modelling, meteorology, atmospheric physics and dynamics, or a related field.
- Strong background in climate modelling and its application to natural hazards.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
