Lead Lifeguard

Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Lifeguard to join our team. As a Lead Lifeguard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of patrons at our aquatic facilities.

• Enforce safety regulations and rules to ensure maximum protection of swimmers
• Supervise patrons for safety and crowd control
• Perform rescue work, including water and land rescues, and provide emergency first aid as needed
• Manage respiratory and cardiac emergencies, including CPR and AED administration
• Teach various swimming skills and water safety for all age groups
• Prepare material for classes and ensure the safety of all patrons in the class
• Promptly report safety hazards to supervisor and complete incident reports
• Ensure proper disposal of medical waste and maintain the cleanliness of the pool area

• Must be at least 16 years old
• Minimum of one year experience in aquatic recreational activities
• Possess or be able to obtain within 30 days of employment current nationally recognized certifications, including Lifeguard training, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, Standard First Aid, and Water Safety Instructor
• Ability to use equipment to take pool readings and perform maintenance of pool equipment
• Must be able to pass an initial and recurrent physical ability test

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergency situations. The Lead Lifeguard must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance. Work may be performed in settings where exposure to moderate discomforts, high temperatures, and/or adverse weather conditions exist.

This is a mixed position where the incumbent must be able to accommodate a flexible work schedule to include nights, weekends, and holidays.
