Job Title: Head of Global Public Policies and Intelligence

Job Summary:

Amadeus is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead its Global Public Policies and Intelligence function. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring Amadeus' strategy regarding trusted relationships with key decision makers in industry bodies or regulatory authorities, to influence their perception, ensure that Amadeus' position is understood and if possible supported, and to protect Amadeus' interests and reputation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the practice to detect and analyze public policy / regulatory trends that directly or indirectly may influence the capacity of Amadeus to conduct its different businesses emerging in key territories around the world (EU & UK, US, India, China, ASEAN, Japan, Korea, Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, Mexico & Brazil) in key following fields:
    • Restrictions to trade, foreign investment controls, market access barriers.
    • Regulation / policies that may impose an extra cost or significant operational complexity in technical, infrastructure, commercial, human, legal or fiscal terms.
    • Regulation / policies that may change the denomination / perception of Amadeus leading to a higher decree of scrutiny or supervision.
    • Initiatives that may lead to either funding opportunities, business development opportunities or where those funding schemes may lead to the creation of alternatives/competitors to Amadeus.
  • Identify, build and lead Amadeus' a range of direct or indirect relationships intended to increase policy / regulatory trends with key external public and industry stakeholders at different levels:
    • Public Sector: Senior Members, High representatives in the most relevant international trade organizations (OECD, G7/G20, WTO, EU/US Trade negotiations, IMF,...) and diplomacy organizations (Embassies, Trade Officers, UN,...).
    • Senior policy makers in fields related to IT, Transportation, Tourism and Payments in USA, India and South East Asia to begin with.
    • Support EMEA team in identifying and connecting with European Union key public stakeholders, including senior officials within the European Commission, the European Parliament and the Council, as well as at local level (Ministers, Director General, Head of Cabinets and Senior officials of national governments with special focus on Spain, France and Germany in areas of interest for Amadeus: Digital/Innovation, Transport, Tourism and Economic Diplomacy).
  • Industry / Lobby Organizations: Identify & create connections with relevant IT, Transportation, Tourism & Payment associations that would support intelligence gathering and lobbying activities with particular focus on USA, India and South East Asia.
  • In coordination with the EMEA team, enhance the image and reputation of Amadeus among industry and government in UK and Italy:
    • Lead the Amadeus participation in relevant government, public entities and trade associations, and represent Amadeus on the board of associations where Amadeus is a member and maximize the influence of these associations on key issues.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in public policy and regulatory affairs, with a strong understanding of the global business environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and analyze complex policy and regulatory trends.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Fluency in English, with additional languages a plus.
