Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mobile Engineer to join our Ebury Technology team in Madrid. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in shaping and building our first React Native team.

As a Senior Mobile Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the overall company and Digital goals. You will have the opportunity to have an impact on both what we build and how we build it.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of our React Native mobile app
  • Management and coaching of a junior developer
  • Collaboration across disciplines to test hypotheses and make a difference to customers through the delivery and iteration of new app functionality and experiences
  • Staying up to speed on the latest mobile development practices, tools, and frameworks
  • Identifying and correcting bottlenecks and fixing bugs
  • Maintaining code quality, organization, and automation

Requirements:

  • Proven working experience in software development, with a portfolio of released mobile applications
  • Proven track record as a React Native Engineer
  • Experience with Java/Kotlin Android development or Objective C/Swift iOS development
  • Solid understanding of the deployment lifecycle for both Android Play Store and iOS App Store
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect mobile applications to back-end services
  • Knowledge of other web technologies and UI/UX standards
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
  • Quality is important to us; we expect your code to be testable and well-covered with unit and integration tests
  • Analyzing and optimizing UI and infrastructure application code for quality, efficiency, and performance driven by data and application monitoring
  • Good appreciation of security
  • Experience in Financial Services and/or FinTech is an advantage, especially working with financial apps
  • Reviewing other people's code and knowing when to suggest improvements
