The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts is seeking a highly experienced and visionary leader to serve as the Dean of the School of Drama. As a key member of the Academy's senior leadership team, the successful candidate will be responsible for shaping the strategic direction of the School and driving its academic, artistic, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the School of Drama in achieving its strategic objectives and contributing to the Academy's overall mission and vision.
- Develop and implement innovative curricula and programs that reflect the School's commitment to excellence in drama education.
- Foster a culture of collaboration and creativity among faculty, staff, and students, promoting interdisciplinary approaches and partnerships with industry and community organizations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including alumni, donors, and industry partners, to advance the School's reputation and secure funding opportunities.
- Oversee the management of the School's budget, resources, and operations, ensuring effective use of resources and alignment with the Academy's strategic priorities.
- PhD or equivalent in Drama or a related field, with a strong academic and/or professional background in drama.
- Proven track record of leadership and management experience in a higher education or performing arts institution.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate faculty, staff, and students.
- Strong vision for the future of drama education and the role of the School of Drama within the Academy and the broader performing arts community.
- Fluent in written and spoken English, with proficiency in Cantonese and/or Mandarin an asset.
