The Institut Català de Nanociència i Nanotecnologia (ICN2) offers a highly competitive PhD Programme to outstanding students who wish to develop a research career in the field of nanoscience and nanotechnology. Our Programme provides a unique opportunity to work in a stimulating environment with access to cutting-edge research infrastructure and a structured training path with scientific seminars, technical and transferable skills training, and periodical monitoring and evaluation activities.
Research Areas and GroupsSelected candidates will have the opportunity to work in cross-disciplinary research areas and/or application areas such as:
- Nanomaterials & Nanofabrication
- Nanocharacterisation
- Modelling and simulation
or in application areas such as:
- Health
- Energy
- Environment
- Information, communication and quantum technologies
Candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Have obtained a Master's or equivalent degree in a field of science related to ICN2 research activities or the group they would like to join
- Have an excellent academic record and strong commitment to scientific research
- Have a high level of English
Selected candidates will be classified as First Stage Researchers (R1) according to the European Framework for Research Careers.
Admission ProcessCandidates who are successful in their applications will be admitted to the ICN2 PhD Programme and will benefit from:
