Job Summary
The ICFO Director is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and operations of ICERCA - Centres de Recerca de Catalunya. As the chief executive officer, the Director will lead the institution by managing human, scientific, and financial resources to achieve its mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the overall scientific and technological vision for ICERCA
- Propose programs of activities, new research lines, and potential sources of funding to the Board
- Appoint and manage senior staff, including heads of management and department managers
- Provide guidance to all members of the institute, including knowledge transfer, academic, and technical departments
- Lead strategic actions to secure resources and support for the institute's objectives
- Represent ICERCA in academic and social events, and chair the Scientific Advisory Board
- Approve internal rules of operation and represent the institute in legal processes
Requirements
- PhD degree in Natural Sciences or Engineering relevant to Photonic Sciences
- Distinguished record and international reputation of scientific excellence
- Experience and capacity of team management, research management, and strategic planning
- Ability to represent the institute in academic, industrial, and social environments
- Strong belief in ICERCA's mission and values
