Mission:
- To contribute to the research and development of state-of-the-art photonic integrated circuits (PICs) for quantum key distribution in continuous variables (CV-QKD) in collaboration with ICFO and LuxQuanta Technologies.
Functions to be developed:
- Participate in the research and development of advanced devices for photonic integration in quantum key distribution.
- Perform practical characterization of PICs and supervise related processes.
- Collaborate with software, hardware and manufacturing teams to develop complete QKD systems.
- Contribute to leading European projects in photonics and quantum technologies.
Knowledge:
- PIC platforms and the design process for integrated photonic systems.
- Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs).
Spoken, read and written: Catalan, Spanish and English.
Technical Skills:
- Quantum key distribution (CV-QKD).
- PIC measurement automation.
- Photonic device characterization.
Specific Requirements:
- Organizational Skills: Multidisciplinary teamwork.
- R&D project management.
Work Experience:
- In the use of laboratory equipment and the automation of measurements for the characterization of PICs.
- In the design and characterization of photonic integrated circuits (PICs).
- In the use of laboratory equipment for testing optoelectronic devices.
- A history of scientific publications in the field of photonic circuits applied to telecommunications or quantum technologies.
Experience in functions similar to those described, particularly in the development of research activities in both academic and industrial environments, will be valued.

Eligibility Criteria: All the candidates who cannot prove the required academic degree will be immediately withdrawn from the selection process.
Assessment Criteria: The CVs will be assessed according to the following general criteria:
- The maximum score for the candidates who accomplish all the eligibility criteria stated in the job offer will be 10 points.
- Threshold: 5 points.
The maximum score (10 points) will be distributed as follows:
- 1 point for required speciality.
- 2 points for required academic training.
- 2 points for technical competences.
- 1 point for organisational competences.
- 3 points for professional experience.
- 1 point for any aspect of the candidate's professional profile to be determined as specially relevant by the Selection committee.
Interview Process: If the selection committee decides to include a personal interview as an additional step in the selection process, only the candidates who score 5 or above for their CV will be retained for the interview step.
Interview Assessment Criteria: Threshold: 3 points.
The maximum score will be distributed according to the following criteria:
- 2 points for adequacy to functional competences of the job.
- 2 points for adequacy of professional experience.
- 1 point for any aspect of the candidate's professional profile to be determined as especially relevant by the Selection committee.
Ranking of Candidates: The eligible candidates will be ranked from highest to lowest score based on the selection criteria.
Selection Process Details: The members of the selection committee will decide for each case what the selection process will be, whether an assessment is made only for the curriculum vitae or any other procedure is planned: interview, tests, etc.
