About the JobWe are looking for a Machining Operator to join our team in a cutting-edge scientific project that aims to demonstrate the feasibility of nuclear fusion power generation for the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER).
Responsibilities- Carry out machining work using machines, tools designed for different processes, and robots.
- Read and interpret positioning plans for the preparation of the machine to be used for carrying out the machining of parts.
- Detect and communicate errors or inconsistencies in the design.
- Prepare the workstation, the machine to be used, the tools, the parts, etc.
- Use safety means necessary to carry out the machining equipment.
- Receive instructions and parts; prepare the material to be machined: positioning, clamping, centering, and leveling.
- Read and interpret specifications relating to the machining work.
- Verify, modify, and produce CNC programs using RobotDK and/or Fusion 360.
- Modify cutting parameters depending on the type of machining, materials, tolerances, etc.
- Suggest modifying tools, sequences, and speed parameters to optimize machining times.
- Support dimensional checks necessary for the correct completion of the final machining.
- Make manual adjustments if necessary.
- Clean the work area and work tools.
- Higher or medium-level professional training in machining tools.
- 3 to 10 years of experience in the requested position.
- Plan reading skills.
- Knowledge of overall mechanics.
- Use of measuring tools.
- Knowledge of CNC and CAM.
- A multidisciplinary profile will be valued (welder, boilermaker-fitter, machinist) or whether the candidate is open to training in these profiles.
- Languages: Advanced English or French, the person must be able to communicate fluently, Spanish is a plus.
- Procedure reading efficiency.
- Qualifications: Crane operator.
- Working at height (Harness).
- Work in confined spaces.
- Working with forklifts.
- Work with lifting platforms.
- Knowledge of Fusion 360, RoboDK, Pack Office (Word and Excel).
- Ability to work in a team.
- Meticulous, precision, skill, and manual dexterity.
- Sense of order and planning.
- Communication skills.
- Ability to adapt.
