About the Role

VTRAC Consulting Corporation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Controller to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing a large financial team and overseeing day-to-day financial operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the daily financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
  • Work closely with the Senior Controller to monitor financial performance and report variances to management.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Implement accounting procedures, internal controls, and best practices to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Generate reports adhering to legal, regulatory, and corporate standards.
  • Support financial due diligence and integration efforts in mergers and acquisitions.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting practices and assist in year-end financial reporting.
  • Serve as a liaison between the finance department and external vendors or financial institutions.
Requirements
  • Academic background in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • Minimum of 5 years of Accounting/Finance experience.
  • Experience in project accounting methods, including Percentage of Completion (POC) and Estimate at Completion (EAC)
  • Minimum of 1 year of Accounting Team Management experience.
  • Canadian CPA accreditation
  • Exemplary technical acumen and analytical prowess, coupled with a keen eye for detail and precision.
  • Effective and strategic communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrable track record in orchestrating end-to-end financial operations.
  • Proven aptitude for multitasking with a proactive, hands-on approach.
  • Ability to manage a large team
