About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for individuals with military experience to transition into a civilian career in logistics and supply chain management. As a Military Operations Manager, you will be part of Amazon's Logistics team, responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe delivery of packages to customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and develop a team of Area Managers to achieve operational excellence
  • Lead operational teams on a shift, addressing issues and positively impacting site performance
  • Analyze shift performance against business objectives and implement actions to improve operational efficiency
  • Collaborate with support teams, including HR, Finance, Health and Safety, and Security
  • Design and deliver initiatives to enhance operational performance across sites
About the Team

Amazon Logistics, or AMZL, is responsible for 'last mile' delivery duties in partnership with third-party distribution businesses. Our goal is to provide a seamless delivery experience for customers, leveraging creative thinking and continuous improvement initiatives to achieve this.

We have two main areas of focus: 'under the roof' associates who process millions of products for dispatch, and 'on the road' delivery teams who work with Amazon Flex. Our team is people-focused and supportive, with a strong emphasis on operations and 24/7 shifts in most locations.

Requirements
  • A degree in a relevant field
  • Relevant experience in people and stakeholder management
  • Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English and intermediate proficiency in the local language
  • Relevant experience in using data or anecdotal evidence to influence business decisions
  • Relevant experience in key areas of production and supply chains

Preferred qualifications include experience in Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen techniques, as well as relevant experience working with the MS Office suite in a professional environment.
