Job Summary
The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) is seeking a Programme Management Officer to join its Regional Programme Division in Madrid. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting socially and environmentally sustainable towns and cities, and will work with partners to build inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable cities and communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement programme strategies to achieve UN-Habitat's goals and objectives
- Provide technical assistance and support to countries in the region to develop and implement sustainable urbanization policies and programmes
- Collaborate with UN-Habitat's partners to build capacity and promote knowledge sharing on sustainable urbanization
- Contribute to the development of UN-Habitat's programme reports and publications
Requirements
- Master's degree in urban planning, economics, international development, or a related field
- At least 5 years of experience in programme management, urban planning, or a related field
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a team and build partnerships with stakeholders
