Job Summary:

The United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism is seeking a Programme Management Officer to join its Special Projects Section in Madrid. The successful candidate will report to the Chief of Section / Senior Programme Management Officer and be responsible for implementing key initiatives to support Member States in preventing and countering terrorism and violent extremism conducive to terrorism.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide leadership on the General Assembly counter-terrorism mandates across the United Nations System;
Enhance coordination and coherence across the 43 Global Counter-Terrorism Coordination Compact entities;
Strengthen the delivery of United Nations counter-terrorism capacity-building assistance to Member States;
Improve visibility, advocacy, and resource mobilization for United Nations counter-terrorism efforts;
Ensure that due priority is given to counter-terrorism across the United Nations System.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in programme management, counter-terrorism, and international relations. They will be able to work effectively in a team environment and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Working Arrangements:

The Programme Officer will work in a fast-paced environment and be required to travel frequently. They will be based in Madrid and report to the Chief of Section / Senior Programme Management Officer.
