About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Linux expert to join the team of a multinational client in the automotive sector. As a Linux System Administrator, you will be responsible for administering Linux VMs hosting database and Web application services, ensuring system stability, security, and performance by applying necessary updates and patches.
Key Responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems (e.g., SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, CentOS, Ubuntu, Red Hat)
- Proficiency in system administration tasks such as user management, system monitoring, and performance tuning
- Familiarity with network protocols and services (e.g., DNS, DHCP, SMTP, HTTP)
- Familiarized with Cron/Crontab to schedule server tasks
- Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, or similar languages
- Experience with configuration of web application servers (e.g., Tomcat, JBoss, Jetty)
Requirements
- At least 5 years of proven experience as a Linux Administrator or similar role
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Desirable knowledge: Familiar with PostgresSQL tools for operations such as backups, restores, connection pooling (pgBouncer, pgBackRest)
- Certification in Linux (e.g., RHCE, CompTIA Linux+) is a plus
