Job Title: Business Technical Accountant

Robert Walters Spain is seeking a highly skilled Business Technical Accountant to join our team in the Insurance Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely handling of French-speaking matters, in accordance with contractual conditions and obligations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Update reinsurance treaty contractual data in our OMEGA 2 tool in coordination with subscribers.
  • Monitor, analyze, and record reinsurance accounts received from clients, agents, and brokers.
  • Verify that accounting data complies with contractual conditions, discussing with clients and/or subscribers as necessary.
  • Analyze and verify premium and claims slips, collaborating with the UW & Claims medical and financial team when required.
  • Manage technical regulations sent and received, and record accounting and financial flows in the dedicated OMEGA2 system.
  • Prepare and update treaty projections in accordance with IFRS17 requirements using our NS MIND tool.
Improving Financial Situations:
  • Monitor deviations, identify trends, and recommend actions to management and subscribers.
  • Manage individual data in dedicated systems (LIRAS, HELIOS) and develop a cooperative relationship with clients to resolve technical accounting issues.
  • Assist in managing and resolving technical accounting questions and problems through research and interaction with underwriters and actuaries.
  • Launch necessary alerts and effectively communicate problem status to all teams.
Contribution to Quarterly Closings:
  • Update final projections, analyze variations, and provide explanations of differences.
  • Assist in responding to internal and external audit requests in a timely manner.
  • Participate in ongoing process improvement efforts, identifying opportunities to increase operational efficiencies.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • 5 years of experience or junior financial analyst or junior actuary.
  • French is a must, with a high level of English proficiency.
  • Problem-solving, process improvement, needs analysis, and financial skills.
  • Ability to work as a team player, with in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office and ideally Business Object or SAP Web Intelligence.
