Casualty Underwriter Job Description

At AXA XL, we're seeking a skilled Casualty Underwriter to join our team in Madrid, Spain. As a Casualty Underwriter, you'll have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients, providing innovative and bespoke underwriting services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Underwrite and manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring accurate risk assessment and premium income within agreed limits.
  • Develop and implement underwriting strategies to achieve business unit goals and align with local and group underwriting guidelines.
  • Build and maintain relationships with brokers and clients, identifying new business opportunities and enhancing existing relationships.
  • Stay up-to-date with market trends and industry developments, applying this knowledge to inform underwriting decisions.
  • Collaborate with the Casualty Manager to drive business growth and improve underwriting performance.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Law, Business Administration, or Engineering.
  • Good English command and excellent communication skills.
  • Several years of experience in underwriting, policy development, and broker management in Liability.
  • Knowledge of the Portuguese market and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
