Key Responsibilities:- Safety and Environmental Performance: The Manufacturing Operations Manager will be responsible for communicating expectations, conducting audits, investigating and documenting all incidents, conducting safety meetings, authorizing work and signing permits, and participating on the plant safety committee.
- Production: This role will determine requirements and assign personnel to each line to assure efficient operation, monitor operations including run rates, changeovers, and line cleans, coordinate with maintenance, lab, and warehouse personnel to meet line production expectations, troubleshoot process issues and determine the appropriate course of action to resolve, participate in the development/revision of operating procedures, and identify and participate in documentation of Management of Changes.
- Quality: The Manufacturing Operations Manager will review finished goods laboratory test results, review in-process test results, determine process running condition changes to be made, solicit input from technical support as needed, participate in on-site customer audits, participate in ISO audits, participate in customer trials/trial reviews, and participate in complaint investigations.
- Staffing: This role will participate in plant staffing activities including interviewing and selection, conduct performance reviews for direct reports and ensure performance reviews are conducted for all operations personnel, recommend wage increases and promotions, identify and prioritize personnel developmental needs, conduct disciplinary discussions, review staff assignments, develop and communicate work schedules for production lines and assign staff as needed.
- Maintenance: The Manufacturing Operations Manager will support the Avient Reliability Program by coordinating shift maintenance activities and auditing equipment checklists to verify proper monitoring by operations, ensure work orders are written and entered into the system for scheduling, and schedule line downtime as required for proactive maintenance.
- Systems: This role will learn and use all appropriate systems which may include SAP, IQS, LRM, CCS, CAID Charts, E-time, Ariba on Demand, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Financial: The Manufacturing Operations Manager must understand and manage financial performance from a cost to manufacture standpoint for lines assigned to them.
- Lean Six Sigma: This role must drive Lean Six Sigma events to improve overall performance for assigned lines.
- Other: Other projects/duties as assigned or needed.
