Our mission is to provide a pathway to net-zero-carbon for all the buildings we design, and we're seeking a passionate and motivated engineer to join our Sustainability & Building Physics team.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer to work on some of the most exciting sustainable design projects in Spain and around the world. As a Building Physics Engineer, you will develop your existing knowledge and skills in building modelling and assist with the development of energy and sustainability strategies for new build and existing buildings.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and develop our key work streams, including building physics and parametric model services, design for performance, predictive energy modelling and operational energy assessments (TM54 and DfP), planning and Building Regulations, health and wellbeing advice and guidance, net zero and whole life carbon services, sustainability design and ESG services, and LEED – BREEAM and WELL Certification schemes.
- Collaborate with our industry-leading sustainability & building physics team to create a better, healthier, and more sustainable built environment.
- Work under the guidance and supervision of more experienced staff to develop your skills and knowledge in building physics, particularly in relation to heat transfer, energy, comfort criteria, CIBSE Guidance, and other industry standards.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of dynamic simulation software and the UK Building Regulations, including a complete understanding of the National Calculation Methodology.
- Contribute to the development of innovative solutions to complex building physics challenges.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Relevant practical experience in a similar role, with demonstrable knowledge and experience of building physics.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative and client-focused environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions.
- Proficiency in coding or a modern programming language.
