Position Overview

Objective

As a vital member of the Architecture Chapter, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of Informatics solutions by developing strategic roadmaps and innovative approaches.

The Architecture Chapter is dedicated to integrating diverse requirements to formulate effective solutions and systems designs, ensuring compliance with established standards.

In your capacity as an Enterprise Architect, you will collaborate with key stakeholders across business and informatics sectors, translating overarching business strategies into actionable informatics directives.

Moreover, you will leverage your insights into the external market to drive research and assess emerging technologies, fostering innovation in next-generation Informatics solutions.

Key Responsibilities

As an Enterprise Architect, your responsibilities will include:

  • Contributing significantly to strategic planning across various organizational levels by creating a technology and information roadmap that aligns with current and future business capabilities, bridging business and IT strategies.
  • Participating as a member of Lean Portfolio Governance, providing valuable input for portfolio prioritization decisions.
  • Leading the design and engineering of applications or patterns, including the development of Enabler Epics for the architectures that constitute the solutions within a portfolio, ensuring a steady flow of value and enhancing time-to-market.
  • Focusing on reusable technology and information to maintain the architectural runway, utilizing a composable architecture to create reliable, easily composed, and consumable components.
  • Driving continuous improvement in product quality within your domain by applying Quality Attributes (NFRs) at relevant levels (portfolio, product lines, and products).
  • Conducting research and evaluations of new technologies, including feasibility assessments that provide insights into scalability and cross-domain applicability.
  • Supporting the development of lean business cases and monitoring the domain, product line, and products for emerging demands, particularly focusing on the skills and capabilities that the chapter needs to cultivate next.
  • Emphasizing the importance of information flow and access while managing information security in your areas of support to optimize data sharing across the enterprise.
  • Adopting a lean-agile governance approach to support agile teams, facilitating decentralized decision-making that balances intentional architecture with emergent design, and promoting practices such as documenting architectural decisions and assessments.
  • Overseeing the evolution of the domain IT landscape, ensuring it supports business objectives while collaborating with solution architects to document and maintain the current and desired IT landscape.
  • Guiding and mentoring implementation teams and solution architects on technical architecture implementation activities, especially for new and/or shared solutions.
  • Fostering collaboration across all architecture groups (chapter & catalyst) and product teams to refine and evolve architecture guardrails (including principles, reference models, patterns, and decision frameworks), practices, and metrics that enhance flow and business outcomes.
  • Executing leadership, facilitation, analysis, and design tasks to ensure that information systems are appropriately designed and evolve effectively.

Candidate Profile

Qualifications and Experience:

You possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Ideally, you have a robust understanding of the Pharma/Biotech industry and its associated processes.

You bring 7-10 years of hands-on experience in architecting and implementing software solutions within large to medium global enterprises.

With over 3 years of experience managing architecture at the portfolio level, you demonstrate the following qualifications and skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of database technologies and concepts (Relational, Graph, NoSQL), Data Warehouse concepts, Big Data frameworks (including Hadoop), Data Catalog, Data Lake, Snowflake, and statistical, analytical, and semantic methods.
  • Solid understanding of the underlying infrastructure for Analytics and Big Data solutions, with knowledge of Blockchain being a plus.
  • Proven ability to frame an enterprise IT architecture that delivers robust, reusable, secure, scalable, and dynamic solutions to meet global business objectives.
  • Experience in developing and executing a technical vision focused on business value, with proven success in Agile environments.
  • Exhibiting a Lean-Agile mindset, you possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to apply systems thinking and a strong passion for delivering value-adding technology to the business.
  • Demonstrated collaboration skills, valuing diversity in teams.
  • Effective stakeholder engagement at all levels, with strong influence in your area of expertise and excellent English communication skills.
  • Adaptability to ambiguity and a positive response to dynamic business environments, consistently seeking innovative solutions and improvement opportunities.
  • Certification or in-depth knowledge of the TOGAF architecture framework or comparable methodologies.
  • Certification or detailed knowledge of the SAFe framework or similar agile delivery methodologies is advantageous.
  • Experience with Enterprise Architecture Management tools (such as alfabet, Enterprise Architect, or similar).
