The Market Research Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the Researchers Team Manager and the Business Development Manager by conducting research pertinent to tenders within the Business Development Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in the identification of new business opportunities in relevant sectors and client markets through comprehensive research regarding the background, programming, and situational context of the country or region, as well as other project-related aspects.
  • Gathering insights on emerging market opportunities and acquiring market intelligence.
  • Collaborating with Business Development Managers and proposal drafters.
  • Providing support for ad hoc research associated with new materials during the tendering process.
  • Participating in launch meetings and logical framework analysis sessions.
  • Contributing to the writing of technical proposal sections as necessary.
  • Building and maintaining a network of expert contacts and partner organizations.
  • Ensuring that projects comply with contractual obligations and meet client expectations.
  • Facilitating the sharing of information within the Unit and across other DAI Units and Departments.

Qualifications and Skills:

Essential:

  • Postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience, including research experience in an academic setting.
  • Proven understanding of and enthusiasm for international development, with experience in an international or multicultural environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce technical documentation.
  • Strong organizational capabilities.
  • Proactive, assertive, and results-oriented with notable intellectual agility.
  • Capacity to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Desirable:

  • Experience in supporting consulting services or international development initiatives.
  • Ability to communicate proficiently in at least one additional language.
