Role Overview

The Senior Manager will oversee the design, planning, operations, and support of the Enterprise cloud computing framework. The primary focus will be on Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role is accountable for effectively strategizing, organizing, and maintaining the overall landscape to ensure the reliable management of the organization's cloud infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Main Duties

Evaluate and implement cloud strategy and architecture. Support daily operations of cloud infrastructure to guarantee security and stability. Define system requirements in collaboration with application architects and stakeholders. Manage third-party support teams. Generate scripts and templates necessary for the automated provisioning of resources. Identify standard cloud service offerings, and establish processes and standards for optimal utilization of cloud service provider offerings. Monitor the consumption of cloud resources, turnaround time for requests, application performance, and systems security posture.

Team Dynamics

Vendor Management – Collaborate with managed infrastructure teams for onshore and offshore support. Directly manage internal reports. Engage in activities with other Support Leads, Support Partners, Third Parties, and various IT Infrastructure Groups.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

Education - Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Certifications – MS Azure Administrator Associate/GCP Cloud Engineer.
Experience: Minimum of 15 years in systems experience, including 5 years in managing, designing, and delivering cloud infrastructure solutions. A consulting background is preferred.
Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to develop and present initiatives or proposals to audiences that include Business or IT leaders. Proven experience in guiding technical teams to successful delivery.

Core Competencies

Collaborate with Security and platform teams to identify and implement optimal cloud-based solutions for the organization.
Ensure application performance, uptime, and scalability while maintaining high standards of quality and design.
Excellent analytical and reasoning skills to assist in troubleshooting incidents, identifying root causes, resolving issues, and implementing preventive measures.
Familiarity with project management methodologies and delivery.

Required Skills

Windows - architecture, maintenance, and administration of Windows servers.
Linux - architecture, maintenance, and administration of Linux servers.
Database – management of cloud databases including MySQL.
Programming - General programming skills with knowledge of languages such as SQL, Java, Python, Ruby, Golang, PHP, and .NET.
Containerization – Proficient with containerization tools including Docker and Kubernetes.
Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and specific knowledge of Terraform.
Extensive experience with Active Directory and group policy.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and agile environment.
Effective communication and collaboration skills in a distributed global team setting.
Self-motivated with the ability to meet objectives with minimal supervision.
A strong desire to work with innovative and cutting-edge technologies.
