Network Deployment Specialist

Amazon is seeking a highly motivated Network Deployment Specialist to join our Planning and Implementation team within AWS Data Center Delivery. The successful candidate will be responsible for scoping and planning interdependent capacity scaling projects and new network capacity deployments across several data center locations.
The ideal candidate will possess a technology background that enables them to understand the complexities of the sophisticated network architecture of Amazon data centers. They will work closely with infrastructure supply chain & procurement, network engineering and technical program managers to plan and deliver customer capacity to the local data center installation & deployment technicians.
The Network Deployment Specialist will be responsible for ensuring adherence to timelines, delivering sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes, and working closely with our Install/Deployment Technicians, Supply Chain & Procurement, Network Engineers and Technical Project Manager teams to ensure fast, smooth delivery of on-demand customer capacity.
About the RoleThis is a key role within our team, and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from planning and designing new data center infrastructure to implementing and deploying network capacity.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data center networking, with experience working with optics and bulk fiber. They will also have excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure adherence to timelines and deliver sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes.
- Work closely with our Install/Deployment Technicians, Supply Chain & Procurement, Network Engineers and Technical Project Manager teams to ensure fast, smooth delivery of on-demand customer capacity.
- Coordinate design, project timeline/schedule and construction milestones.
- Experience in core project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management.
- 5+ years data center networking experience working with optics and bulk fiber.
- 3+ years experience working with large scaling infrastructure deployments.
- 3+ years experience working with 3rd party vendors on large projects.
