Join Our Dynamic Team
The Biologicals Discovery and Development (BD&D) division within Biologicals R&D at Corteva Agriscience is integral to the identification, advancement, and refinement of live microbial products and natural product active ingredients. We are in search of a Microbial Research Scientist to become a vital member of the Bioprocess Optimization team at our R&D Center, contributing to the expansion of our sustainable product pipeline.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate and execute strategies to enhance solid-state fermentation processes for fungi, aiming for optimal spore yields and metabolite concentrations.
- Develop and implement methodologies to refine downstream processes, ensuring the production of high-quality, viable spores across various microorganisms.
- Collaborate with a dedicated team of technicians to coordinate and conduct experiments effectively.
- Create project plans in partnership with team members, which include sourcing materials, setting up experiments, analyzing results, and suggesting alternative strategies to meet project goals.
- Present and communicate findings to a range of audiences, including peers and leadership within Corteva.
- Draft and revise protocols while training technicians to uphold best laboratory practices.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Microbiology or a related scientific discipline.
- Proven experience in microbial fermentation (both laboratory and pilot scales) and bioprocess development.
- Extensive knowledge in the cultivation and physiological assessment of various microbes.
- Exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal), along with strong interpersonal and technical writing abilities.
- Experience in a collaborative, results-driven team environment.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with a track record of meeting deadlines.
- Proactive attitude with a desire to learn and enhance skills.
- Proficiency in both Spanish and English.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in host-microbe interactions, particularly in biocontrol applications in plants and filamentous fungi.
- Experience in the characterization of microbial secondary metabolites.
- Foundational understanding of plant pathology.
