We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced research assistant or postdoctoral researcher to join our team at Biogipuzkoa Health Research Institute in San Sebasti\u00f3n, Spain.
The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing a scientific collaboration with clinical partners at various hospitals and departments, defining the workflow to collect and process patient-derived cells, tissue, and patient data, and developing new 3D bioengineered models.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in biotechnology, biomedical engineering, or a related field, with previous experience in biological tissue sample collection, processing, cell and tissue culture, histology, immunohistochemistry, and microscopy.
The position offers a unique opportunity to work in an international, interdisciplinary environment and to contribute to cutting-edge research in regenerative medicine and cancer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish a scientific collaboration with clinical partners at various hospitals and departments.
- Define the workflow to collect and process patient-derived cells, tissue, and patient data.
- Develop new 3D bioengineered models.
- Evaluate new drug targets and assess the effect of existing and novel therapies.
- Collaborate in additional projects and become an integral member of our team.
Requirements:
- MSc or PhD in Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Biomedicine, or a related field.
- Previous experience in biological tissue sample collection, processing, cell and tissue culture, histology, immunohistochemistry, and microscopy.
- Excellent ability to conduct experiments independently and collaboratively within our group.
- Collaborative mindset and motivation to work in an international, interdisciplinary environment.
- Strong organization skills, project management, and proactive "getting things done" mentality.
- Interest to learn and grow professionally in a young, dynamic, and competitive lab.
- Genuine excitement for science, innovation, and creative thinking.
- Good written and oral communication skills in English.
