Rhynocare is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Resident Care Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing close observation and support to patients who require a safe and caring environment.
Key Responsibilities- Observe and Support Patients: Provide close observation and support to patients who require a safe and caring environment, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Engage in Restorative Care: Engage patients in restorative care activities, such as reading stories, looking through photo albums, and storytelling, to promote their physical and emotional well-being.
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living: Assist patients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming, under the close supervision of registered healthcare professionals.
- Document Observations: Complete documentation as requested by the facility, including the Dementia Observations Scale (DOS) and Behaviour Assessment Record (BAR) charting every hour.
- Communicate with Healthcare Team: Communicate observations and concerns with the healthcare team to facilitate care planning and ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent: A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this role.
- Previous Experience in Healthcare: Previous experience in healthcare, preferably in a patient observation and support role, is highly desirable.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this role, as you will be working closely with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
