Job Summary
Apple is seeking a highly skilled Senior Language Expansion Engineer to join the Siri Response team. As a key member of this team, you will play a crucial role in driving product impact through measurement and evaluation, contributing to the next revolution in human-computer interaction across Apple's platforms.
About the Role
This is an exceptional opportunity to have end-to-end ownership for the development of Siri for multiple locales, from voice to language to character. You will work closely with engineering partners to develop processes, tools, and frameworks for building, fine-tuning, and optimizing ML models for TTS text processing and acoustic models of Siri.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement tools for analyzing errors and systemic issues on Siri voices in all locales.
- Implement your ideas directly in our TTS engine in production, impacting hundreds of millions of users.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to drive projects of varying sizes and scopes, and ability to dig deep into technical details.
- Communicate complex technical topics to a wide range of stakeholders, from data scientists to engineers to business partners.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience working in text-to-speech, speech recognition, NLP, or related fields.
- Strong foundation in building tools and frameworks using PyTorch/Tensorflow for AI/ML applications.
- Expertise in programming languages, including Python.
- Capable of driving projects of varying sizes and scopes.
- Strong communication skills.
Education and Experience
A Master's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computational Linguistics, or a related field is required.
