About the Role:
Nordex Group is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing software solutions for our wind turbine control systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and specifications.
- Design and develop software architecture for optimal execution of control solutions in PLCs.
- Develop Proof of Concepts (PoCs) and qualify new ideas.
- Analyze field data to define optimized functionality.
- Define acceptance tests for HIL and field tests.
- Support the wind turbine control end-to-end process from beginning to series.
Requirements:
- Successful completion of a technical bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, automation technology, telecommunications, or a comparable field with a deep relation to software.
- Minimum 5-7 years of work experience.
- Advanced knowledge in abstract and modularized thinking and good knowledge in PLC programming according to IEC61131.
- Knowledge in the use of Matlab/Simulink is a plus.
- Experience with agile software development according to SCRUM is preferred.
- Experience with version control systems like SVN or Git.
- Good knowledge of different industrial communication protocols (Profinet, CAN, Modbus TCP, OPC-UA…).
- Experience in the wind industry is welcome but not mandatory.
- High results orientation and quality awareness combined with initiative, responsibility, structured, and sustainable work habits.
- English (very good written and spoken). Ideally, skills in German or Spanish.
- Strong communication skills, assertiveness, organizational talent, and intercultural competence.
- Reliability, flexibility, and accuracy are basic requirements.
- Good team player in an international team and very good interpersonal skills, strong communicator.
- Availability to travel.
