Research Assistant - Institute for Sustainability Leadership

IESE Business School is seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant to support the Institute for Sustainability Leadership in fostering academic research on sustainability and bringing actionable insights to support the transition to more sustainable business practices.

The position will be under the supervision of the Academic Director, Professor Fabrizio Ferraro, and focus primarily on collaborating on several research projects on the following topics:

  • Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Investing
  • Impact Investing Strategies
  • Shareholder Engagement and Activism
  • Political Ideology and ESG Corporate Behavior
  • Corporate Purpose and Carbon Emissions Reduction

This is a great opportunity to engage directly with high-quality academic research with a focus on sustainability. The position might be especially appropriate for candidates interested in pursuing academic careers in related areas and proceeding to do a PhD in Business Schools with a focus on Strategy, Organization Theory, and Sustainability.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Management, Economics, Sociology, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Good working knowledge of statistics and econometrics
  • Working knowledge of:
    • Econometrics, and use of Stata (preferred) and/or R
    • Experience working with corporate and financial data
    • Knowledge of Python, Machine Learning, and Natural Language Processing (appreciated but not required)
    • Research experience (a plus)
    • Excellent English language writing and speaking skills
