Job Description:

A challenging opportunity has arisen for a Cost Engineer to join Airbus Operations in Getafe, Madrid.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The analysis of actual costs associated with previous development projects, focusing on technical drivers.
  • The delivery of complete costing solutions for assigned projects, ensuring timely and high-quality results, with clear explanations of relevant cost drivers.
  • Supporting the management of customer requests, clarifying needs and associated value, driving decision processes, and providing early guidance to stakeholders to ensure highest value for Airbus.
  • Risks and opportunities analysis, including the assessment of cost impact and probability to occur, as well as identifying cost-saving ideas and cost challenge opportunities.
  • Supporting consolidation and technical negotiations with functions and suppliers to achieve targeted costs.
  • Developing, implementing, and documenting costing models and references for development, design, test, and customization, covering the whole product life cycle.
  • Providing guidance for Go/No Go decision making for DtC/DtV ideas at an early stage to eliminate non-viable ideas.

Requirements:

  • Educated to degree level in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Ability to analyze data in different databases (technical and finance) to extract cost drivers and cost models.
  • Strong knowledge of aeronautical design and design processes.
  • Team player with an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Good communication and presentation skills at all levels.
  • Strong ability to interact and influence.
  • Very good strategic and analytical skills, including data analysis.
  • Basic experience in project management.
  • Language Skills: Fluent in French, negotiation level of English.
