Job Summary:
Nordex SE is seeking a highly skilled Wind and Site Technician to join our team. As a Wind and Site Technician, you will be responsible for developing and improving wind tools, supporting the tendering phase, and conducting technical evaluations of wind tool risks during project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and understand site-specific wind and climate conditions.
- Support the Tendering team with site-specific constraints.
- Conduct risk analysis to optimize project constraints (hub height, rotor diameter, major component wind speed limit).
- Collaborate with the engineering department to define the right parameters.
- Calculate the wind impact on site during project execution and compare with wind tool outcomes.
- Integrate technical requirements and practical limitations for optimal wind risk performance.
- Identify risks and opportunities to improve the wind tool.
- Gather wind analysis from different sites and compare with the wind tool.
- Implement and support corporate processes and tools, developing local processes/tools as needed.
- Regularly report achievements, risks, and challenges.
- Occasional travel within the country and abroad may be required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Meteorology or equivalent.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and wind tools.
- Experience in wind flow modeling and relevant software (e.g., WindPro, WAsP); familiarity with CFD codes is a plus.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role, including crane and transport in wind energy and crane operations planning.
- High proficiency in English; German is a plus.
- Strong communication skills.
- Proactive and assertive attitude.
- Able to work effectively in multicultural teams.
