Job Title: Database Administrator

We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator to join our team. As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring the databases supporting our Product operate efficiently, securely, and reliably.

Main Responsibilities
  • Maintain and administer databases, including performance review, configuration, installation, upgrades, backups, restorations, and monitoring.
  • Design and plan database structures in collaboration with web backend tech leads to ensure information is stored efficiently and securely.
  • Ensure data security and privacy by protecting databases against unauthorized access, data loss, and corruption.
  • Optimize database performance by optimizing queries, indexing data, and configuring database parameters.
  • Troubleshoot issues, including resolving data conflicts and recovering databases in the event of system failures.
Requirements
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in major DBMS such as PostgreSQL and Google BigQuery or Azure Data Explorer. Experience with distributed/multi-node databases will be highly valued.
  • Database Design: Strong understanding of database design principles, including normalization, indexing, and data modelling.
  • SQL: Advanced knowledge of SQL and experience with complex queries, stored procedures, and triggers.
  • Performance Tuning: Experience in performance tuning, statistics, and query optimization.
  • Backup and Recovery: In-depth knowledge of database backup and recovery procedures.
  • Security: Familiarity with database security practices and tools.
