Job Title: Database AdministratorRole OverviewAs a Database Administrator at Juno Projects, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient, secure, and reliable operation of our databases. Your primary responsibility will be to maintain and administer our databases, ensuring data integrity and privacy.
Main Responsibilities- Maintain and Administer Databases: You will be responsible for the management and maintenance of our databases, including performance review, configuration, installation, upgrades, backups, restorations, and monitoring.
- Design and Plan Database Structure: You will collaborate with our web backend tech leads to design and plan database structures, ensuring information is stored efficiently and securely.
- Ensure Data Security and Privacy: You must ensure that our databases are protected against unauthorized access, data loss, and corruption, while also ensuring compliance with data privacy requirements.
- Optimize Database Performance: You will be responsible for ensuring our databases operate efficiently and quickly, including optimizing queries, indexing data, and configuring database parameters.
- Troubleshoot Issues: You will identify and resolve issues, including resolving data conflicts and recovering databases in the event of system failures.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in major DBMS such as PostgreSQL and experience with distributed/multi-node databases.
- Database Design: Strong understanding of database design principles, including normalization, indexing, and data modelling.
- SQL: Advanced knowledge of SQL and experience with complex queries, stored procedures, and triggers.
- Performance Tuning: Experience in performance tuning, statistics, and query optimization.
- Backup and Recovery: In-depth knowledge of database backup and recovery procedures.
- Security: Familiarity with database security practices and tools.
