Job Description

Project Engineer Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team at Sener, specializing in the transport and installation of offshore wind projects. As a Project Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the coordination and delivery of engineering services for offshore wind projects, requiring a comprehensive understanding of the offshore wind sector and exceptional multitasking and flexibility skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Contract Strategy Discussions: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement contract strategies for offshore wind projects.
  • Provide Market Overview: Analyze market trends and provide insights to inform business decisions.
  • Develop Installation Schedules: Create detailed installation schedules for the construction phase, ensuring timely and efficient project delivery.
  • Engage with Local Ports: Establish relationships with local ports and determine infrastructure upgrade requirements to support project execution.
  • Assess Design Considerations: Evaluate design considerations, including equipment, noise mitigation, and innovative installation methodologies, to ensure optimal project outcomes.
  • Define Vessel Specifications: Develop vessel specifications for the installation of floating wind turbines, mooring pre-lay, and cable designs for floating or bottom-fixed assets.
  • Deliver Technical Due Diligence: Conduct technical due diligence assignments to support large and complex finance transactions, with a focus on the T&I scope.
  • Lead Working Packages: Manage and support multidisciplinary project teams, leading working packages relevant to the technical preparation, coordination, and management of the T&I scope.
  • Support Standardization Initiatives: Contribute to standardization processes and initiatives across the Wind Advisory team, aiming to develop standard and modular technical requirements for the contracting of the T&I scope in international projects.
  • Coordinate Project Developments: Support project developments in the bid and execution phases, ensuring seamless project execution.
  • Prepare Documentation: Collaborate on the preparation and coordination of documentation to successfully participate in future offshore wind auctions and development phases.
  • Contribute to Technical Development: Share knowledge and expertise to contribute to the technical development of the team and the company.
  • Document Project Results: Document project results and attend project meetings with clients to ensure effective communication and knowledge transfer.
  • Manage Key Interfaces: Ensure that key interfaces, risks, and actions within OWF engineering are tracked, managed, and necessary interventions identified and closed out.
  • Quantify and Articulate Project Delivery Risk: Understand, quantify, and articulate project delivery risk to enable transparent and fully informed business decisions.
  • Ensure Knowledge Transfer: Facilitate knowledge transfer between projects, ensuring that lessons learned are captured and applied to future projects.

Requirements

  • Strong Technical Experience: Proven experience in the transport and installation of offshore wind projects.
  • Comprehensive Understanding: Comprehensive understanding of the offshore wind sector, including market trends and technical requirements.
  • Exceptional Multitasking: Exceptional multitasking and flexibility skills, with the ability to pivot between different tasks and projects.
  • Strong Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of Third-Party Software: Familiarity with third-party software for operation simulations, including the ability to find optimal solutions.

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of Innovative Installation Methodologies: Familiarity with innovative installation methodologies, including the use of floating wind turbines and mooring pre-lay systems.
  • Experience in Contract Strategy Development: Experience in developing and implementing contract strategies for offshore wind projects.
