As a PhD researcher, you will have the opportunity to contribute to a cutting-edge project that aims to leverage analytics and AI to support the well-being and persistence of doctoral students.
Project OverviewThe GSIC-EMIC research group at the University of Valladolid is leading a transdisciplinary research project that seeks to develop innovative solutions to tackle the challenges faced by doctoral students. Our goal is to create a personalized and scalable support system that utilizes the latest advances in analytics and AI to promote the well-being and persistence of PhD candidates.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct research on human-AI collaboration and its applications in learning analytics
- Design and develop innovative solutions to support doctoral student well-being and persistence
- Collaborate with a team of researchers from diverse backgrounds to achieve project goals
- Contribute to the development of a vibrant research community and participate in international research projects
- Master's degree in human-computer interaction, psychology, data science, computer science, learning sciences, educational sciences, mathematics, physics, or engineering
- Skills in one or more of the following: knowledge and experience of designing experiments; using quantitative research methods; using qualitative research methods; good programming skills in Python and/or R; experience in user research; experience with learning analytics, educational data mining, or AIED
- Openness to working with interdisciplinary projects and interest in applications for learning and teaching (including professional and research skills learning)
- Proficiency in English is a must, with proficiency in Spanish a very useful bonus
- A vibrant research community with access to a supervisory team of senior researchers
- Mentorship in becoming a researcher and opportunities to participate in international research projects
- Working on a PhD project with great potential for social impact
- Equipment and a workspace will be provided
- The option to teach/assist courses at the university, if desired
- Salary is in accordance with Spanish doctoral candidate funded position scales
