Bioinformatician in Mass Spectrometry and Proteomics

Job Summary
Sin Nombre is seeking a highly skilled Bioinformatician to join our team in the field of Mass Spectrometry and Proteomics. As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for providing support in proteomics data analysis, developing and implementing data analysis workflows and visualization tools, and performing statistical and high-throughput proteomic data analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement data analysis workflows and visualization tools for mass spectrometry and proteomics experiments.
- Perform statistical and high-throughput proteomic data analysis both by bottom-up and top-down proteomics.
- Functional analysis of proteomic data, functional classification, and pathway analysis.
- Develop or improve existing workflows for proteomics quantitative data analysis.
- Help with the storage of big data and with the maintenance of software for facility management.
- Train the members of the MSPCF in the use of dedicated software and data analysis workflows.
- Provide expert advice in the domain of bioinformatics to the IRB scientific community and collaborators.
Requirements
- Experience in developing in Python and/or R for applied statistical analyses.
- Understanding of omics data and biological processes.
- PhD/Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, Chemistry/Physics, or a related discipline.
- Proactive person with the ability to work as part of a team.
- Critical and innovative thinking.
Desirable Qualifications
- Strong background in mass spectrometry (Familiar with TMT, DDA, DIA, PRM, absolute quantification, structural proteomics).
- Background in chemical biology and/or targeted protein degradation.
- Strong biomedical background.
- Previous experience with version control systems (Git).
