Position Overview

We are seeking a Junior Estimating Engineer to join our team in Barcelona. Under the guidance of the lead estimator, you will assist in developing portions of capital expenditure cost estimates (ranging from class 2 to class 5) as an Engineering Service Provider for onshore projects in process industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compile anticipated project execution costs, including process equipment, bulk materials, construction works, supervision, temporary site facilities, and engineering services based on data from the engineering phase.
  • Coordinate with various departments to gather essential data for bill of quantities and solidify cost estimates through vendor and contractor offers.
  • Contribute to the timely issuance of the Cost Estimate Report.
  • Clearly outline the main hypotheses and assumptions used in the estimates.
  • Enhance client understanding and confidence in the Cost Estimate.
  • Ensure consistency with the expected accuracy of estimates.

Candidate Profile

  • Degree in Engineering.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Familiarity with other Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Power-Bi).
  • Professional proficiency in English and Spanish.
  • Ability to read and comprehend French (some internal documents may be in French).
  • Capable of interpreting technical documents and project plans.
  • Basic understanding of AACE recommended practices related to Cost Estimating.
  • Methodical and analytical approach to tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in project execution.
  • Fluency in French is advantageous for communication with other centers.
  • Previous experience in an engineering discipline or in procurement/subcontracting.
