Space Systems AIT Specialist

The selected candidate will play a vital role in supporting Elecnor Deimos across various initiatives, reporting directly to the head of the AIT Competence Centre. This role involves collaboration with team members throughout the organization. The AIT Competence Centre oversees comprehensive AIT planning, execution, and reporting for space systems and satellite platforms, from the initial concept phase to on-orbit operations. Elecnor Deimos is currently engaged in multiple projects for ESA and the commercial sector, focusing on delivering advanced technologies for earth observation, communication satellites, and scientific missions.

Key Responsibilities:

The individual in this role will assist Elecnor Deimos with ongoing and future projects related to AIT activities for space systems and satellite platforms. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Development of AIT plans, procedures, and documentation.
  • Support for requirement verification processes.
  • Assistance with on-orbit operations.
  • Conducting various analyses and simulations.
  • Facilitating AIT planning for other departments within the company.
  • Direct collaboration with the Project Management Office (PMO).

Educational Background:

A degree in Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Electronics Engineering is preferred.

Professional Experience:

0-3 years in a relevant field.

Technical Skills:

The ideal candidate should possess some, but not all, of the following skills:

  • Experience in functional, EMC, TVAC, and mechanical testing (at least two).
  • Understanding of the systems and subsystems involved in spacecraft.
  • Able to perform structured analysis, troubleshooting, and recovery actions for space hardware malfunctions.
  • Familiarity with GSE specification, design, and implementation.
  • Hands-on approach to cross-functional technical challenges.
  • Knowledge of New Space methodologies and techniques.
  • Experience with low-level integration and testing methods.
  • Experience in handling space hardware and conducting clean room activities.
  • Proficiency in drafting relevant technical and project implementation documentation.
  • Experience with LEOP and commissioning flight operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic environment with multiple priorities.

Desirable skills include:

  • Familiarity with Python or other scripting languages.
  • Technical writing skills and knowledge of ECCS or other space-related standards.

Language Proficiency:

Proficiency in English (minimum B2 level).
